Guidelines for print data at GRAFIcom

Delivery of files

For the individual production of your products we need final, printable files from you. Please note, however, that the files must not be larger than 256 MB. Complex illustrations with many layers must be screened. Attention: Formats larger than 508cm are not supported by most programs and can lead to unwanted results. Create the data here on a scale of 1 :10. All data should be created without crop marks, register marks or color control strips. You can check the bleed allowances in the sub-items of the materials.

Supported file formats

Please send your print data in one of the following file formats: PDF Version 1.3 (PDF/X-3)* or higher, JPG, PNG, TIF, INDD, AI, EPS
* Please note that we can only accept one-page PDF files. For multi-page productions, please send us a separate file for each page.

Colors

Please be sure to create the colors of your file in the CMYK color mode. This is the most common color space for modern digital printing machines. When using a different colour mode or spot colours (Pantone, HKS, RAL etc.) the colour values are automatically converted to CMYK, which can lead to color deviations.
Please also make sure that all print data to be supplied is as consistent as possible. color profile. We work with the ISO Coated V2 (ECI) profile in the pre-press stage, which generally achieves the best colour results when printing advertising technology.
The ISO profile and the characterization file are available in the download area of the European Color Initiative (ECI). If your files are created with other or different color profiles, color deviations may occur
Black printing: To obtain an opaque deep black in the printed image, use the colour marking 50C-50M-50Y-100K. With a pure black print (0-0-0-100) the black sometimes appears too matt or too bright.

Light/dark colour transitions

Do you want to display transitions between two very light or very dark colors in your layout? Please bear in mind the technical limitations of digital printing: The finished product is marked with an extremely light gray on a white background (Set the black color value for light gray to to at least 15 %, i.e. 0C-0M-0Y-15K). The same applies to extremely dark colors - before a black background, you should not use too dark gray, since the two color tones will change after the It may be difficult to tell the difference between the two types of pressure.

Overprint

Please make sure that you do not use an overprint function when creating your print file. Doing so may result in unwanted print results.

Image resolution

In general, we recommend a resolution of at least 150 dpi for most of our printed products, ideally 300dpi. However, the optimal image resolution depends on the expected viewing distance. If the result is to be viewed predominantly from a medium to large distance, a lower resolution is also required. Resolution sufficient.

Fonts and Graphics

If possible, convert all fonts into paths and pixel graphics into vectors.

Otherwise, it may happen that the packaging is (e.g. hem or eyelets) makes the contents illegible. Background colors can be used without any problems.
Attention: If you order a banner with hemstitch, you should have a larger Maintain edge distance. The recommended value depends on the desired diameter of the hem:

Diameter of the hemstitch Recommended edge distance

10 cm / 3,94 inch 22 cm / 8,66 inch

Scale

For products with a maximum length of 5 m (longer side) you can create the print file in scale 1:1. If the ordered banner is larger, use a smaller scale such as 1:2, 1:5 or 1:10 instead. We will then scale your template up proportionally to use it for printing in the format you ordered.
Caution: Print motifs in reduced scale should have a correspondingly higher image resolution. If, for example, the resolution of the original motif is 150 dpi, then a 1:10 scale is recommended when the motif is reduced. value of 1,500 dpi advisable
